In
order to be admitted to the
Faculty of Art, Design and
Architecture of Bilkent University, the following
examinations must
be taken:
For the departments of
Interior Architecture and Environmental Design
Landscape Architecture and Urban Design
students must take the YÖS examination. They will be
centrally allocated provided that on the preference list of
YÖS they mark these two departments and pass the exam.
The remaining three departments, namely,
Comminication and Design
Graphic Design
Fine Arts
admit the students through YÖS, preregistration and aptitude
tests.
Students
who have succesfully completed the above requirements are
admitted to the departments on the basis of their choice and
department quotas.
Pre-registration
generally starts on the second half of August every year.
All candidates who have pre-registered for any of the
above three departments of Faculty of Art, Design and
Architecture will take the multiple-choice "General Aptitude
Test" which is generally scheduled during the first week in
September. Those candidates who have applied for the Graphic
Design Department are also required to take "Drawing and Design
Aptitude Test" on the same day. The candidates for the Fine Arts
Department (painting, sculpture and ceramics) will be taking a
"drawing test" and special aptitude test on the next day.
Comminication and Design Department applicants must take a
"composition exam."
The succesful candidates are given two-stage English
Proficiency Exam. For those who score below a certain grade,
English Preparatory Programme is required.
